Shows

As Creative Expression is one of the core values at THE SPACE we host, produce, and curate a variety of shows throughout the season featuring adult students, youth students, the Teen Aerial Dance Company, as well as professionals.

Open Grip

Open Grip is a showing of 8 debut pieces of aerial artistry or ground work by performers of all levels and movement scope.  In this unique production we invite the audience to be a part of the process by providing critiques.  Open Grip is held at THE SPACE quarterly so stay tuned for our next installment!

After a set of 4 Open Grips we hold a Re-Grip!  This show is one in which 10 of the previous performers are invited to remaster their acts taking into consideration the audience feedback from their initial performances as well as their personal growth as artists!

Open Grip was started by Paper Doll Militia Co-Founder Sarah Bebe Holmes in Edinburgh, Scotland who has allowed THE SPACE to bring Open Grip to the U.S. right here in Atlanta!

Black Curtain Revue

In December of 2016 THE SPACE presented the first Black Curtain Revue: A Variety Show.  Black Curtain Revue is a variety show conceived by Nicolette Emanuelle and Constance Echo Palmer.  The pair has produced shows independently for some time including Open Grip and Dead Poets Lounge, however this was their first collaboration.  With this debut show the pair held nothing back and boldly put forth this spectacle for your viewing pleasure!
